Approximately 1400 PzKpfw 38 (T) was produced in 8 variants (Ausf A / B / C / D / E / F / S / G) in various modifications and with improved armor protection. All of them were armed with Czech 37mm. with the tools Skoda A7 vz.38 (the German marking 37mm KwK 38 (T) L / 48 (L / 47.8)). The body of the early PzKpfw 38 (T) was riveted (a direct hit of the projectile often ripped off the rivet heads, which injured the crew (including deadly ones)), and the later variants were mostly welded. Later, the armor of the early PzKpfw 38 (T) models was reinforced, and some, probably, were rearmed with German 37mm. tool KwK 35/36 L / 46.5. Several PzKpfw 38 (T) were converted into flamethrower tanks by replacing the built-in machine gun with a flamethrower, and fuel for it was fed through hoses from the rear of the tank, a trailer with a tank (200 liters). Also, based on PzKpfw 38 (T), a prototype of the AP-1 floating tank was developed, but it was never put into production. Later on, the PzKpfw 38 (T) chassis of the upgraded Ausf H / K / L / M versions were produced and used as the basis for various machines (such as Marder III Ausf H / M, Bison / Grille Ausf H / K / M and Hetzer). In addition, early models returned for repair often served as the basis for various alterations.
